*Anyone know of a cheap furniture place in Brisbane? I'm finally replacing that battered old couch and intened to hit up Super A-mart and Fantastic Furniture... any other suggestions?

*I find it ironic that freethinkers seem to think about nothing but how messed up religion is. I have no idea why I joined their shitty society at UQ, now my inbox is full of e-mails documenting the same issues over and over featuring interviews with people who agree with them. At least religious fundamentalists are entertaining :(

*You ever get those courses which you have to do to get your degree but are void of any useful content? I have to do Convergent Journalism, which is basically a bunch of old men sitting around and talking about how they didn't have Twitter back in their day or how the internet has changed reporting. And people wonder why the biz is going broke. One lecturer actually used the phrase "e-mail machine".

*I somehow managed to whack myself in the eye with my clunky metal birdcage necklace. I was paralysed with pain for a whole minute. This is what happens when I catch public transport.

*Often times late nights bring about bouts of creativity or depression. Tonight, I am depressed that I am not creative. I think if I put a bullet in my skull it would have to go on a mountain excursion to find my brain.

My friend is running the skeptics society at Griffith also known as the "skeptics and free thinkers society" the idea of a "free thinking" _society_ sort of bugs me, if its a society, well, its not free. Thats now how people work. (N'thinking without societies is pretty whack and leads to the crazy anyway I imagine.)

Also, I tried mentioning that the rules of logic just dictate the form of an argument based on premises, and that the premises are often heavily based on subjective opinion, and subjectivity isn't actually a bad thing but folk ought to keep subjective matters in mind because people who claim to be "objective" aren't and I got blasted about how I'm stupid, and objectivity is awesome and logic rocks, and how could I criticize logic using logical argument, don't I realize how moronic that is etc.? (For reference, I love logic...)

I joined the society this semester because of my friend, but Jesus Christ. The stupid is _obnoxious_ because it gets dressed up in pretty pretentious words and they get to claim they're rational.

((Oh, said friend is Steph, who probably reads here/ I'm not complaining about you babe. Mostly that Chvd guy, and anyone else as obnoxiously pretentious. I mean admittedly _I'm_ obnoxiously pretentious but I hope I don't come off nearly as much as a wanker.))

Verbal masturbation at its finest. "You can think whatever you want, so long as you agree with us and hate anyone who doesn't."

Pretentious is definitely the right word. I really wanna go in there with an I <3 Jesus shirt and counter everyone's arguments with "God did it".

Fantastic furniture has really sweet prices. Our couch is from there. It was like $500, but its like $100 cheaper to buy the couch in some obscure colour so thats why ours is bright blue.
Amart seems to have good deals on their ads though, better check the websites first.

There's a Lifeline Supa store in Newmarket that might be worth checking out for furniture.

Your necklace has turned malicious!

I had a course where the lecturer told us "All you need is a Commodore 64, there's no need for a "gig" of space. It is all usless and a con by sales people!".

And my favourite; "They even have the internet on mobiles now! Has anyone ever seen one?" At that point I put my hand up, shouted out I've had one for 3 years, that he was old, this class was stupid, and walked out.

OMG a poodle is passing my window!

PFFFFFFTHAHAHAHA! Yes, curse those pretentious hipsters with their 1gb of space, they are clearly blind capitalists.

Also, props if you actually called the guy old and stupid. You deserve an internet for that one.

I said it loud enough for everyone to hear around me; but I assume because he was so old (and the lack of "YOU YOUNG WHIPPER SNAPPER!), he probably didn't hear.

I don't care what Fight Club said: I still like Ikea. The prices are comparable to Fantastic and Amart.
